Description

In season 3, EDEN – the flux-character – is still on the lookout for collectors. So she’s off to one of the temples of contemporary art, the Venice Biennale 2022. Pavilion after pavilion, in the Gardens, in the Arsenale, from Cannaregio to Giudecca or on the web, she discovers the great nations, the great art and the great public.

EDEN becomes part of the Biennale’s grand décor. She takes the shape of photographs or videos, captured by a smartphone. Among the works and the audience, at the heart of the stage, she strikes a pose. Sometimes, the character seems to be embodied in a sort of flesh-and-blood double, so that visitors believe they are witnessing a performance. EDEN now stands on the edge between the virtual and the tangible.

True to its nature – remember that EDEN is first and foremost a digital file – EDEN continues to move from one medium to another, from Minitel to tablet, from iPad to photo or video taken by a smartphone to finally return to the blockchain of its beginnings. In Venice, EDEN won’t be receiving any awards. She dreamed of a lion, or rather a golden lioness.
